UKYO VOICES
The Ukyo Voices project is a groundbreaking community engagement initiative between Kyoto University of Foreign Studies and the government and people of Ukyo-ku, Kyoto City, to help the ward celebrate its 90th anniversary. In the spirit of being ‘good neighbors’, students teamed up to interview twelve individual residents and representatives of businesses in the local area, and photograph daily life, in an effort to document and understand how the people of Ukyo-ku, across all generations, live, work and play. Please enjoy the website we have made!
