The third phase of the Young Global Researchers Project (YGRP), Loss of Innocence: Research into the effects of conflict or disaster on child or youth victims, was launched in late July, 2026. The purpose of the project is to document the personal stories of people who lived through conflicts and disasters as teenagers. Each young researcher does a face-to-face interview of someone from their own community – such as a family member, neighbor, or acquaintance – who survived either a conflict or disaster. The result is a collection of articles that preserve memories that might otherwise be lost and share the voices of those who witnessed these moments while still young. In this way, readers can understand just what happened from the perspective of someone who experienced it firsthand and how it shaped their lives as they moved into adulthood. Below are links to each article, organized under the themes of Conflicts and Disasters.
